For over twenty years, Steve has been instructing students of all ages from beginning to advanced. He takes credit for teaching many active players in a variety of styles. Educated at the famous University of North Texas in Denton, Steve studied with Ed Soph, Henry Okstel and Ron Fink, three of the top named educators of percussion in the world.

Steve has also been featured twice in Modem Drummer Magazine, once for his 1991 article, “Truth On Tape” and a biography in the “On the Move” column in 1996. He also conducted an interview with drummer, Ryan Hoyle, which was featured in the website for Rhythmtech.
Steve has also taught students with special needs. Since 1997, he has worked with students with Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and assisting one student with a compound fracture on his left arm. Steve has always prided himself on teaching through example and inspiration. His main goal for each student is to LOVE MUSIC!
